Warner Archive Collection releases on Blu-ray this 1932 cult classic horror film directed by Charles Brabin and starring Boris Karloff as Fu Manchu, evil but brilliant megalomaniac whose plan to conquer the western world with his eastern army involves retrieving a sword and mask from the tomb of Genghis Khan, with intrepid British scientists/archaeologists from her Majesty's government standing in his way. Myrna Loy costars as his beautiful but evil daughter.Looking superb in a pristine HD transfer, an upgrade from the 2006 Hollywood Legends of Horror DVD Collection, porting over that audio commentary by Gregory Mank and now including two classic cartoons.Only one film left from that set to release ("The Return of Doctor X") and the sooner the better. Highly controversial film even today is understandable to an extent (and a 30 second viewer advisory regarding its historical period, etc. is present at the start). though the plot and characters are so outlandish and over-the-top that it can't be taken seriously, though does remain quite entertaining and well-paced at only 68 minutes. It is presented uncut as well so judge for yourself.
